We often hear the line – Learn, Unlearn, Relearn. To an extent we could do that by ourselves but not always, someone needs to guide us how to do it or from where to do it. Human Resources department has been seeing changes with the growth of Technology. It is important that we update ourselves constantly. We have therefore come up with a forum for HR Professionals – Kerala HR Shapers.

Employer Branding & EVP

Minchington (2005) defines an Employee Value Proposition (EVP) as a set of associations and offerings provided by an organization in return for the skills, capabilities and experiences an employee brings to the organization. The EVP is an employee-centered approach that is aligned to existing, integrated workforce planning strategies because it has been informed by existing employees and the external target audience. An EVP must be unique, relevant and compelling if it is to act as a key driver of talent attraction, engagement and retention.

Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn are the best platforms for talent attraction. Some of the greatest brands & start ups been leveraging on social media to promote their work culture, benefits and rewards, career development, relocation services, flexible work, parent friendly policies etc. One good example is the below picture from TEK Careers;

Some of my initiatives with previous organizations included Team Building Activity, E-Newsletter, Staff Referral Program, Blood Donation Camp, In House Social Media, Health Wellness & Happiness Program, Sports & Events. Corporate Discounts for employees (at Hospitals, Optical’s, Online Shopping sites, Water Park, Foreign Exchange, Gym and others)

Brands yet to explore or haven’t taken EVP and Employer Branding seriously are losing out on the talents to their competitors.

Christmas Excitement at Head Office

Fun & Excitement is all around the corner when you hear the Christmas is near. Everyone celebrates Christmas with its true essence & joy.

Al Ghalia begins preparation a month before decorating the whole of office. Celebration comes to a close with a party at the then most award winning restaurant Mezzaluna for the Head Office team members.

Employees even plan their vacation accordingly so they don’t miss the fun. Everyone is excited to play Games, for Gifts, Surprises, Christmas Message, Dance & Music.

Here is our department with a smile & excitement welcoming the new year.

Team Building Activity – Al Ghalia

A team building activity was organized for Al Ghalia staff encouraging them to take a break from their work. Every year we had this event but with a different name – DBB (Darts, Billiards, Bowling) this year we included three new games; Tug O’War, Wooden plank race & Canoeing race to encourage more participation, team bonding and socializing. It was organized at Al Bander Hotel & Resort, a mind blowing place to relax and have fun. 

Enjoyed organizing this event with Lea. Now we are getting ready for Bahrain Marathon Relay.

Lea our event manager, Batool our collector and our team who is always cooperative to make the smallest celebrations an amazingly fun & memorable with music, photos, lunch n cake …Immanuel who is celebrating his birthday today was overwhelmed to see the arrangement his team / colleagues prepared for him. A health conscious manager breaked his rule for the first time to taste everything that was ordered 😜

Hussain’s farewell party

Its hard to say goodbye to someone whom you been very comfortable and content with. Hussain Makki is one such person who is silent, sincere & committed to work.
